| Collaborative multi-agent robots involve a team of robotic agents working together socially to successfully complete a task. A robotic agent can be social in many ways. One such way is when robots help each other to complete a task. There are many advantages of employing collaborative multi-agent robots. Applications of collaborative robots can be found in many fields such as underwater robotics, air traffic control, intelligent highways, security patrols, tele-surgery and mines and ores detection. However, a collaborative multi-agent robot system presents new challenges in terms of team design, network control, team control, software design and developing new standards. Ubiquitous robotics further extends this view by explicitly addressing the need for interoperability between robots and existing ubiquitous and pervasive infrastructures. This book will provide the reader a valuable insight to modeling and evaluation of models, methods and applications necessary for the next generation of robots. Readers with diverse background like research, academia, industry, medicine, etc., can take advantage of this book and can shape a new way of analyzing applied artificial intelligence. | |
