Write for Us
Write for this site
Our readers are people who want to understand health, science and the news without being talked down to. They are patients, students, researchers, clinicians and general readers who follow a story past the headline and want the context that makes it mean something. When they open an article here, they expect clear explanation, checked facts and a reason to trust the person who wrote it.
If you write for us, you reach an audience that reads closely and shares what it finds useful. A good contribution earns attention on its own merits. It also gives you a byline on a publication that takes accuracy seriously, which is worth more than a passing mention anywhere else.
What we publish
- Health reporting and explainers: public health, prevention, treatment, nutrition, mental health and the evidence behind common claims.
- Science coverage: new research, medicine, biology, climate, space and technology, written for a general readership.
- News analysis: what a development means, how it was reported elsewhere, and what readers should watch next.
- Research summaries: a single study or review, placed in context, with its limits stated plainly.
- First-person and professional accounts from clinicians, researchers and patients, where the experience adds something the data cannot.
- Corrections, follow-ups and debunks of claims that are circulating widely.
Guest posts and sponsored articles
We accept contributed editorial and sponsored placements. Every post we publish is permanent and indexed, so it stays available to readers and search engines after it goes live. Editorial links in accepted articles are dofollow. Sponsored posts are marked as sponsored where the law or our own policy requires it, and we will not present paid content as independent reporting. Pricing is available on request and depends on length and topic. Our usual turnaround from an accepted draft to publication is three to five working days.
Guidelines
- Send original work that has not been published elsewhere, in print or online.
- Aim for 800 words or more. Shorter pieces are considered only when the subject genuinely does not need the length.
- Include one or two relevant links, ideally to primary sources such as journals, official statistics or regulators.
- Nothing illegal, defamatory or misleading. Claims about health need evidence, and we will ask for it.
- Gambling, adult and pharmaceutical subjects are considered case by case. They must be relevant to our readers and written to the same standard as everything else.
- An author bio is optional. If you send one, keep it to two or three sentences.
- We edit for house style, clarity and accuracy. We will send you substantive changes before publication.
How to pitch
Before you submit an article, email guestpost@iconceptpress.com with a subject line in the form "Guest post: <topic>". Include a short outline of what you propose to cover, roughly 100 to 200 words, and a link to past work so we can see how you write. If the idea fits, we will reply with a decision and a copy of our contributor guidelines. You can also use this mailto link: guestpost@iconceptpress.com. We read every pitch, though it can take a few days to respond. Please do not send a finished draft until we have agreed the topic.
